Has anyone ever told you that you should wear your retainer for the rest of your life? (Raising my hand) I have.
I tell my patients upfront, before they start treatment, that they should expect to wear a retainer for the rest of their lives, or at least as long as they want their teeth to be straight.
The current style of retainers is much more patient friendly than those in the past. Especially for someone finishing a course of treatment where they wore their aligners at least 22 hours per day, putting in their retainer before bed is not a problem.
Don’t go through all of the time and expense of orthodontic treatment to then have your teeth gradually move back to a crooked state.
